DataFlux Selects DataDirect Technologies for XML Conversion and XQuery ProcessingXML Products from DataDirect Technologies Help DataFlux Enter New Markets by Providing Support for Non-Relational Data Formats and Vertical Industry Standards BEDFORD, Mass. – Sept 17, 2008 – DataDirect Technologies, the unparalleled leader in data connectivity and mainframe integration and an operating company of Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), today announced that DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality and data integration solutions and wholly owned subsidiary of SAS will embed the DataDirect XQuery® and DataDirect XML Converters® products in the next release of its dfPower® Studio and the DataFlux Integration Server scheduled for early release in October. DataFlux dfPower Studio provides all data quality components in a single integrated platform. Through graphical workflow tools and an intuitive interface, business users responsible for the quality and reliability of corporate information can easily inspect, correct and control enterprise data. In addition to data monitoring and integration capabilities, dfPower Studio allows users to build complex data improvement workflows through a job flow builder then implement the job flows in batch or real-time using the DataFlux Integration Server. Looking to extend the products’ functionality to non-relational data and to answer customer demand for vertical industry standards support, DataFlux turned to DataDirect Technologies and its XML-based technologies. The DataDirect® Data Integration Suite is a set of lightweight components that provide design and runtime capabilities for standards-based data integration in traditional and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments. “Recognizing the increasing use of XML as the standard for data exchange among key stakeholders and the enterprise, DataFlux has taken measures to support non-relational data in the next release of its core products for compliance, data governance and master data management,” said Scott Gidley, co-founder and chief technology officer at DataFlux. “By embedding DataDirect Technologies’ XML technologies and its ability to integrate data from heterogeneous data sources and varied data formats, we have extended our market-leading data quality tools to any file format.” The DataDirect XML Converters are an integral part of the DataDirect Data Integration Suite, providing the ability to seamlessly and bi-directionally convert any data file including EDI, flat files and other legacy formats to ready-to-use XML, accessible from any Java™ or .NET application. DataDirect XML Converters embedded in dfPower Studio and DataFlux Integration Server will allow users to easily support data interchange standards like HL7, X12, ACORD, IATA and SWIFT for improved data exchange and compliance efforts. For DataFlux users that need to combine and efficiently process XML, relational and legacy data formats in application scenarios such as data integration, Web services and XML-based data exchange, the Data Integration Suite offers DataDirect XQuery. The high-performance, XQuery processing engine can access and query XML, relational data, SOAP messages, EDI, legacy, or a combination of data sources and supports the XQuery for Java (XQJ) API. With the additional functionality provided by the DataDirect Data Integration Suite, DataFlux users can now convert any data format to XML on the fly to be transparently queried with DataDirect XQuery. “As a 10-year customer of DataDirect Technologies and its connectivity products, we are delighted to further this longstanding relationship by providing DataFlux and its customers with leading data integration technologies,” said John Goodson, vice president and general manager of DataDirect Technologies. “DataDirect Technologies’ products are ideal for organizations like DataFlux that require flexible, high performance data access, integration and management capabilities.” More detailed information about the technical features available in the DataDirect Data Integration Suite can be found at www.xquery.com/data-integration.
