Standard Exchange Format (SEF) Support

DataDirect XML Converters supports the EDI Standard Exchange Format (SEF), an "open" standard that allows you to describe proprietary EDI message types. You can create a SEF extension file, which contains the definitions of your enterprise's custom EDI message, and then use that file with DataDirect XML Converters when converting your EDI files to XML, and vice versa.

XML Schema Support

In many cases, users need to know what XML Schema is output (or required as input) by a converter; DataDirect XML Converters provide an API for dynamically fetching the XML Schema corresponding to a conversion.

Document Streaming for Performance and Scalability

DataDirect XML Converters use streaming XML technology. This design allows the easy manipulation of large documents through a streaming architecture design. They leverage the SAX, StAX, XmlReader and XmlWriter streaming XML APIs.

Easily Embeddable

DataDirect XML Converters are easily embeddable into Java and .NET applications, or your XML processing component. They require no other product or application server, and have no server of their own.

XML Tools for DataDirect XML Converter Development

Supported formats are enabled out-of-the-box with no development and custom formats can be address with Stylus Studio®, an award-winning XML IDE with advanced XQuery development support including integration with DataDirect XQuery.
